Dave has a Snow White-ness about him

So my sweet husband has this thing for animals...namely birds.
He's carried ducks off the street and built little beds in boxes for abandoned sparrows in our back yard.

Today he was out back and heard some troubled birds with his sixth sense. After hunting a bit he found two baby quails stuck in my neighbors deep window well. Their mother was frantically pasing on top of our roof.

Snow White...I mean Dave put on rubber gloves and got a baseball glove. Then carefully rescued the birds from their pit.
We watched from inside as they were reunited with their worried mother.

My husband has such a big heart!

Dave is funny! Just this week there was this bird that had gotten hit by a car, but was still alive. All the neighbor kids were surrounding this poor bird. It rained, and our neighbor Madelyn held an umbrella over the bird. So sweet. She was crying hysterically! She prayed about the bird, and finally her mom called the vet and asked him if he would put the bird down. So, Madelyn and her dad drove the bird to the vet. Who knows what really happened after the vet took the bird. What would Dave have done? That poor bird's neck was broken and bent all funny and his wing was bleeding. We could see him breathing still and he would flap his good wing occasionally. Poor bird. Dave is a nice guy!

Dave is a tough guy on the outside but Snow White on the inside, love it! He is sweet that way. I am excited for the concert, "So you think you can dance" (said very quickly in a high toned Brittish accent)

The best thing about Snow White is the lesson of compassion learned by his children.

Guys are interesting that way. They both want to hunt and save animals.

Russ once saved a mallard Kyle "chewed" on in our backyard. He kept him in the bathtub, nursed him back to health and named him Sebastian. On Easter (you might remember this, it was at our very first house probably 10-11 yrs. ago) we were having an egg hunt and he ran (oops, I meant flew) away. Russ was so hurt. He couldn't understand why Sebastian would want to leave him. Ask him about it sometime - it's funny (oops I mean sad).

You just gotta love a guy with a soft heart!

How sweet. My husband is the same way. He LOVES animals. I guess I shouldn't be surprised since he grew up with ferrets, iguanas, frogs, birds, a snake, dogs, lizards, etc. Now we have two goats!

That is so funny, I wrote an almost replica story on my blog, last friday. It was probably the same dumb birds and overprotective mom.

I'm a total sucker for animals, so anyone else that is too, ranks high in my book!
