I saw so many flags in people's yards today (thank you Boy Scouts) & was so touched by the display of patriotism.
A personal request. I wish everyone that had a personal flag would fly it daily in honor of all the soldiers at war (largely due to 9/11). I don't think most people know it, but it is one of the reasons to fly a flag. A bit of a hassle to put it out each morning and take it down each night. But, a great way to remember those who are fighting on our behalf. It is meaningful to families that have someone overseas to see that you remember that they are there.
I'm on a bit of a soapbox (I know). But, I feel strongly about this. My nephew Drew ( a Marine) is currently in the Middle East serving our country and all of us. It is scary. We miss him and are so very proud of him.

Eloquent is the wrong word... but thanks for the props, yo.
Flying my flag, proud to be an American, and "remembering" today those lives taken by *evil*.
Amen sister. I am transported in time by the pictures and video of that horrific day. Thanks for the reminder to fly the flag:(
Great post Beck!

Just my 2 cents.
Mine is flying proudly!
Thank you Beck, for the reminder. Such a solemn day for our country.
I drove by the cemetary and there were a hundred flags flying. Sad Day.
I second Annie in remembering those in harm's way. Good luck to her nephew!
Thanks for the great reminder. Love ya Beck!
