Anyone else lost their Umph for cooking?

Last night's dinner consisted of a Costco rotisserie chicken and a case of blueberries. No plates, no utinsels, no napkins, just a nice soaky tub after!

Thatcher, who was seated ON the table, said "this is the Best dinner you've ever cooked, Mom!"

I've lost it, for sure.
Although, for a non-cooking dinner, that sounds dee-lish to me! :)

I think a Costco chicken is a feast. Sounds yummy.

Ahhh the Costco chicken - my favorite standby. I often lose my will to cook - but I have to do it. The thought of taking all 4 kids to a restaurant nips it in the bud. I don't do a huge meal every night though. I have found that it helps to plan out a week in advance what we are having - then I can look at the list and know what I need to make - somehow that makes it easier. Cause I would stand in front of the fridge all day trying to think of something!

I love to bake, not really to cook dinner. Bummer for my family. We ended up going home last night and making pancakes and scrambled eggs. YUM! I love EASY dinners! Tonight: Cafe Rio! We did try and go to Cafe Rio, but I had a mishap and needed to go home. I'll have to tell you sometime!

So I found your blog by mistake thinking it was another blog, and I just thought it was interesting that we both have a son named Thatcher... my Thatcher is 3 1/2 also, it's crazy. I have never heard anyone else with that name, so I just wanted to say Hey! You can link to my blog to see my Thatcher.

I have so lost that loving feeling for cooking. I actually don't mind cooking, it's the "what should I make tonight" that I HATE. I understand that there are people out there who actually plan ahead and therefore skip that daily anxiety. The other great part about making dinner is hearing "I HATE this dinner, Mom!" that makes it so rewarding!

my no-fault method is to have 5 stand-by quick & healthy meals at all times in my kitchen.

then it's nobodby's fault if they're hungry.

see? I'm free from the guilt.

I go in spurts of having a desire to cook. I'm doing ok this week, definitely due to planning ahead. If I don't plan ahead, it's always a nightmare. And I agree with Suzie, I try to have a few "pantry meals" always on tap to make when I'm feeling ultra uninspired. Costco chicken is delish!

Yep, I lost it a while ago. I am trying to keep plugging along. We ate out 5 nights last week-NOT good on the pregnancy weight gain.

I go in cooking spurts. One weeks I'm totally "on" and the next week we do a Costco chicken at least once!

Becky,

We love the Costco chicken. At least you had the fruit food group represented with the blueberries.

I much rather read your blog than write ours. You are so entertaining.

Best,
